What is the difference between financial education, guidance and advice?

Here at FinWell we believe that Financial Wellbeing is understood and improved through the three elements of education, guidance and advice. We are all on a journey with our own Financial Wellbeing and we typically need to improve our knowledge and understanding as a starting point.

1. Education is any activity that is designed to improve your knowledge, understanding and confidence around key money matters. At FinWELL that takes form in the Financial Wellbeing microsites and content we create for employers and their employees along with interactive group workshops.

2. Guidance is the next and key step, giving individuals the opportunity to speak to a human being, ask questions that about their areas of focus, discuss the various options available and then be signposted to relevant resources or explain the advice process.

3. Advice involves discussing your personal situation and then receiving tailored recommendations as to the best options available that are suitable to you.  This will involve specific financial products to achieve your goals such as insurance, pensions, investments and trusts. FinWELL can help explain the options available but professional advice is not offered by FinWELL.

Do you offer any services for free?

Yes.

We're passionate about helping as many people understand and improve financial wellbeing as possible so can offer our content and some services for free in specific circumstances.

What Financial Topics and Themes can you cover?

Our diverse and inclusive team have a range of experience and expertise enabling us to cover all aspects of financial wellbeing from Money Management, Budgeting and the Cost of Living Crisis to Money Matters at key events along life's journey.

How can you help us save money first to then invest in financial wellbeing initiatives?

We have a number of ways to help FD’s, CFO’s and Business Owners save money in these challenging times with the view that some of this money can be passed on to employees and some can be used to further improve financial wellbeing for everyone.

An example of this is for SME’s who haven’t yet implemented Salary Exchange for pension contributions as the business could save up to £1,300 per employee, per year and employees can save up to £600 per year.

Please do contact us if you think this might be worth discussing further.

Can workshops be recorded and how many can attend?

Yes, we encourage you to record sessions so they can be stored on your sharepoint, intranet or central hub and viewed again by those who couldn’t attend and new starters.

There is no restriction on the number of attendees and employers usually use their own zoom or teams accounts.

Can you offer face to face and online sessions?

Yes.  We believe that recent times have shown that we can continue to utilise online technology for learning, training and development needs but you can't beat face to face interaction.

Our team is growing and we will always try to offer face to face activity as part of any programme if we possibly can.
