The aim is to bring all those who champion mens health and wellbeing together to encourage more men to connect with each other and share their stories.
We will also be bringing you various interviews sharing raw stories from inspiring and influential men covering the very real challenges along life’s journey.
Fundamental is a new lifestyle space for men created by Matthew Shaw with mental wellbeing at its heart providing aspirational, attainable and affordable content for all men.
Matthew is an editor at the BBC and through his work in mental health has seen that men thrive best when they help and support each other.
He created Fundamental to offer a series of articles and other content by men for men which reflect the way we live. Affordable clothes, achievable fitness, manageable money and mental wellbeing, obtainable holidays, easy cooking etc.

Dean Forbes
Dean has been named one of the UK’s 50 most ambitious business leaders by Lloyds Banking Group and The Daily Telegraph. He was also named in the J.P.Morgan sponsored Powerlist 2021, 2022 and 2023 as one of the 100 most influential Black people in the UK. He is highly passionate about issues around social mobility and philanthropy and actively supports those with similar backgrounds to his own. Twice homeless and a primary carer in his teens for his disabled mother, Dean now campaigns and invests to level the playing field for the UK’s under-served communities through his not-for-profit foundation – The Forbes Family Group (FFG). Jamie Forsyth
Jamie is the Head of Ops & Engagement at Mates in Mind and has an incredible story that he shares to help others understand and make a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing. Mates in Mind aims to raise awareness, address the stigma of poor mental health and improve positive mental wellbeing in the UK construction industry. It is a registered charity operating in the UK that aims to provide clear information to employers on available support and guidance on mental health, mental illness and mental wellbeing, and how they can address this within their organisations. Peter Komolafe Peter is a highly commended, financial content creator, podcaster and financial expert. Peter is a qualified Financial Adviser and passionate about helping people understand how to create financial security through positive financial habits. Peter founded Conversation of Money (a YouTube Channel and weekly Podcast) in 2020 to have conversations he wished someone had with him when he was in his twenties. Having struggled with debt through his twenties and thirties, his story has seen him go from being fostered and homelessness to the Executive Team of a Fortune 100 company in Canary Wharf. During his 15 year career in financial services, he has held key roles at some of the biggest Financial Institutions including RBS, MetLife, St James Place and Investec Wealth & Investment. Peter uses the wealth of knowledge and experience gained working in Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Wealth Management to simplify financial topics and make them relatable to ordinary people. Rob Stephenson
Rob has a strong and personal interest in mental wellbeing and is part of the movement to smash the stigma of mental ill-health in the workplace. He has lived and worked whilst managing bipolar and conducts speaking engagements on his personal experiences and ideas as to how we can facilitate change. Rob also founded FormScore which is a movement and technology solution that helps us be more intentional about our wellbeing by answering the question "How are you today?" with a score, out of ten and connecting with friends, family and trusted colleagues. The InsideOut LeaderBoard is a social enterprise with a mission of ending the stigma of mental ill-health in the workplace that Rob also co-founded.
